Online Photo Sharing. Upload, Organize and Safely Store Your Photos Online.

Sharing your photos and photo albums online is fun, easy and free. YourPhotos provides powerful online photo sharing features enabling you to safely share pictures with your friends and family. Create and manage multiple photo albums. Add tags and descriptions to your photos for simple browsing, sharing, editing and printing.

Creating an Account

Simply click on the "Sign up for free" link in the upper right hand corner of our home page. Please fill in required information (e-mail address and password). Once done, we will send a validation message to the email address you submit - so please look out for it. For security reasons, please verify your email address by responding back to this email. We feel that this is the best way to ensure that any changes are authorized by the account holder and that your personal information is not compromised. Once we have your response, we will mark your email as verified in our system and will approve your account. We appreciate your patience with our security measures and we look forward to seeing Your Photos!

Note: accounts with inappropriate content may be removed without notice. We will do everything possible to delete any photo or photo album, either private or pubic, which is considered inappropriate for the viewing of children under the age of 14.

Uploading Your Photos

The "Upload Photos" function at YourPhotos.com allows you to select digital photos from your computer's drive using your Web browser and transmit them to the YourPhotos web servers to be added to your online account. Once the photos have been uploaded, you can share the photos, order prints or a wide selection of photo related gifts.
There is no charge to upload photos.

  • Select multiple files at a time for uploading with no software installation required
  • Can be used under a variety of operating systems
  • You may upload up to 10 photos at a time - up to 10 MB each
  • You may upload up to 200 photos

Sign in to begin the uploading process, click on the "Upload Photos" link in the upper left hand corner of the screen. After the "Upload" page appears click on Upload File(s).

Find the folder or image files on your computer's drive. Simply click on the file to begin the upload process. You will see a blue bar indicating your photos are in the process of uploading. Click on "Upload More Photos" to continue adding more photos to your account. You may upload up to 10 photos at a time by holding down the Control key on your keyboard while selecting your images. After selecting up to 10 photos hit the enter key on your keyboard. You will see the blue bars indicating your photos are in the process of being uploaded to our servers. Depending on the speed of your connection and the size of your images, this process may take a few moments.

After completing the process of uploading your photos click "View your photos" This will bring you to the Your Photos page where thumbnail views are displayed.

Viewing Your Photos


Clicking on any of the thumbnail view will bring it up in a new screen which will show:

  • A full display of your image
  • The date it was uploaded
  • This Photo is Private and
  • Delete Photo

By default each of your photos is made private and can be viewed by you only and those people you'd like to share them with by sending out an email invitation. Clicking on "private" will switch your photo from private to public. This will enable the photo(s) to be viewed by anyone using the YourPhotos service.
Clicking on Delete photo will remove the photo from the YourPhotos servers. You will be asked "Are you sure you want to delete this photo?"

Tagging Your Photos

A tag is a set of keywords or terms assigned to each photo. This kind of metadata helps describe an item and allows it to be found again by browsing or searching. Tags are chosen informally and personally as a way to find a photo or groups of photos by the tags or keywords assigned by you. By using tags, you will not need to go searching through numerous folders or photo albums to find specific photos or related groups of photos. Using tags in such an organizational system is flexible and easy. On YourPhotos.com, in which many users are tagging many photos, this collection of tags becomes a way of social indexing in our members can participate in finding out new information about people, places or events which have been similarly tagged. Tagging is simple and a fun way to make your photos easily found by others using the search feature.

Group Tagging of Photos

Tagging photos allows groups to share photos of specific events, celebrations and adventures. An example of group tagging is to ask all the guests at a wedding or other event to upload their photos to YourPhotos.com and make their favorite ones Public after uploading. Ask everyone at the event to use a specific tag or tags to identify their best photos (Jones wedding or Riverside High 1988 reunion). When friends and family come to the site and enter those tags into the search box, all of the photos labeled with those tags everyone's best shots will be available for viewing as well as ordering prints and photo gifts.

Adding Descriptions

Beneath each photo is the Description field. Use this feature to simply add your personal descriptions to each of your photos. Adding descriptions will help others identify the who, what, where, when, why and how of each photo, whatever you choose to describe. Please note: When ordering our hard or soft cover photo books, if you choose to have the descriptions or captions beneath your photos they will be taken from this field. The descriptions are not added at the time your photo book is designed by you for printing, instead they're taken from the descriptions you've added here. You can always change or delete your descriptions.

Creating Photo Albums

Choose Add Album at the top of the page to create an album for your photos. An Add/Edit Album box appears where you can name your album and add a description. By choosing the Albums tab, you can go back and change titles, change the privacy setting or delete your albums. After your album is created you can begin to organize your photos by adding them to your albums.

Selecting Photos/Organizing Photos

Under each of your uploaded photos is a "Select" link. Clicking on this will highlight the selected photo (or photos) with a red border. Organize your photos by using the Select drop down box located at the top of the page above the photo gallery. Choose to save the selected photos to any of the Albums you've created. By clicking the Delete button, the photos you've selected will be deleted. Keep adding photos and albums to your heart's delight!

Sharing Your Photos

Your Photos allows members to easily share there photos by inviting friends and family members through email. Those who receive an email from the member can view photos that have been made public by the member and also search for photos using tags that the member has provided.
